Conditions of entitlement to an injury allowance

A person who is injured at work is entitled to an injury allowance under the following conditions:

• You have coverage in work injury insurance.
• You were injured in an accident at work.
• You have produced an "initial medical certificate for work injured" which indicated the medical diagnosis and the period of time that he is unable to work, together with the claim form. Details on How to submit the claim. 
• You did not work as a result of the injury.

People ineligible for injury allowance:

• An insured person who actually worked in a period of incapacity determined by a medical certificate.
• An insured person who actually worked during the period of incapacity specified in the medical certificate. An insured person who was injured while undergoing vocational rehabilitation or vocational training, and suffered no loss of income from work due to the injury.
• A prisoner, detainee or person residing in an institution under the Youth Law.
• A foreign worker staying in Israel illegally.
